I Left the Door Half Open
Original Abstract Painting by Christina Scherer
8 x 16 inches | Acrylic and Ink on Hand-Stretched Canvas
“I Left the Door Half Open” is an original abstract painting from Christina Scherer’s collection I Used to Write Poetry, a series exploring thresholds — between self and other, sound and silence, stillness and becoming. This piece captures the vulnerability of invitation: the willingness to stay soft, to let air, memory, and possibility move through.
Created through Christina’s sacred ritual process, each layer is infused with the tones of crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, and prayer. The water used in the paint was blessed and sung over, allowing vibration and intention to merge with pigment. Through this alchemy, the painting becomes a living, resonant artwork, alive with grace and quiet presence.
Crafted with acrylic and ink on hand-stretched cotton canvas, its surface reveals translucent layers that hover between warmth and coolness, echoing the subtle tension of a space not yet closed. Finished with archival varnish for protection and longevity.
This painting holds the frequency of openness, trust, and transition, making it ideal for meditation spaces, creative studios, or intimate interiors that honor emotion, curiosity, and breath.
